We have witnessed tremendous progress in cancer treatment and care during the past decades and with continuous innovations with one discovery building on another are responsible for most new advances in medicine that often leads to early detection and more effective options for treatment. However a diagnosis of cancer is still likely to be frightening and it often brings up a wide range of difficult emotions which have the significant impact on many areas of a person’s life. In this pursuit, a new dimension has been developed to work along with the clinical assessment and medical management-Emotion-Focussed Therapy (EFT). Emotion-focused therapy is empirically supported humanistic treatment that arose out the theoretical integration of research on psychotherapy with ideas from constructivist psychology, emotion theory and attachment theory.

Background: Tuberculosis is one of the most important public health problems causing significant morbidity and mortality globally. Prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis has been increased from time to time and also it is a serious problem in our country. The main objective of this study was to examine risk factors related to pulmonary tuberculosis in Dessie-referral Hospital, Ethiopia.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study design was conducted by review of data from September 01, 2016 to August 31, 2017, GC in Dessie-referral hospital. A total of 126 cases were analysed using binary logistic regression.
Result: Prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Dessie-referral hospital was 67.5% relative to extra pulmonary tuberculosis. The highest number of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Dessie-referral hospital was seen on the age group of 31-45 and on sex group male. In addition to this most of pulmonary tuberculosis patients were HIV positive and lowest numbers of pulmonary TB patients were worked on health center rather than non-health Center and most of TB was new case and there was small number of relapse. Weight, work place, weight, past pulmonary tuberculosis history and HIV were significantly associated with pulmonary tuberculosis occurrence.
Conclusion: The overall prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Dessie-referral hospital was high relative to extra pulmonary tuberculosis. The major risk factors associated to this prevalence rate were work place, weight, past history of TB and HIV.

The rise of Type 2 diabetes is becoming a global public health scare that needs extra attention and management. The increasingly sedentary lifestyle and westernization of diet have grown in parallel with the worldwide rise in obesity which is a major cause of Type 2 diabetes. This study focused on determining the level of awareness and adherence to medication and diet of diabetic patients at Abdi Waluyo Hospital in Jakarta Indonesia, which will be used as a basis for improving the Diabetes Specialty Clinic for the hospital. The study utilized quantitative method with descriptive correlational type of research to collect information on patients’ level of awareness and their adherence to drug management, diet, exercise and level of awareness. The patients (n=20) were recruited from Abdi Waluyo Hospital. A purposive sampling was utilized to select twenty diabetic patients. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized as the main instrument in gathering data. A focus group discussion was also done to assess the level of awareness and compliance to diabetes management. The study yielded a full extent on adherence towards medication intake. Patients have extreme awareness in diet management and moderate awareness in diet and exercise. In terms of compliance, patients adhere to some extent only, while drug management has the highest level of compliance, followed by exercise and diet. There is a low correlation between level of awareness and compliance (r=0.32, p=0.15), indicating that the moderate level of awareness of patients to Diabetes Mellitus management is not related to their compliance. It was concluded that patients’ adherence or compliance to prescribed treatment regimen is the extent to which behaviours coincide with the health education to achieve a therapeutic result. Hence, educating the patients and family members is a key to Diabetes Mellitus patient management.

Chronic diseases are leading to high cost of health care. Adoption of mobile phone with the evolution of real time monitoring of patients in their locality using sensors can reduce the rate of death occurrence from asthma. This paper presents a wearable sensor for monitoring heart rate, air quality, humidity and temperature known for triggering asthma attack. The system design and the architecture involve the relationship between the wearable device, the mobile device, the central storage and the stakeholders. The experimental testing from this system revealed that mobility monitoring devices are very feasible for monitoring the daily health status of an asthma patient.
