Host-pathogen interactions are fundamental processes in microbial pathogenesis, contributing to the development of infectious diseases. Adherence and colonization, invasion, immune evasion, host defense and inflammation, genetic susceptibility, and interactions with the host microbiota are key aspects of these interactions. By unraveling the complex mechanisms involved, researchers aim to develop effective strategies for disease prevention and treatment. This article provides an overview of the mechanisms underlying hostpathogen interactions in microbial pathogenesis, highlighting their importance in understanding and combating infectious diseases.
